For our customers, the UKM Advantage is the summation of our commitment to the Quality of our Products and the Reliability behind our promises. We continuously support this advantage by having the vision to invest in both our people and process technology so that UKM remains competitive for the long term.
UKM is an ISO 9001- 2008 certified company that not only is guided by the principles of ISO but is also a critical partner with our customers in defining and in some cases re-defining product quality during the entire lifetime evolution of a particular application. Our quality mission is to represent the product specifications and workmanship on behalf of the customer throughout the entire production process and not just at final inspection. UKM is often an integral partner with our customers, especially during the early stage or even the conceptual stage of a product's design. Here UKM takes an active role in the form, fit and function process and further collaborates with the customer to refine the solution and ultimately capture the exact specifications of the final product.
UKM holds a tradition of reliability with our customers. Reliability in quality, cost, delivery and commitment to their needs. A critical metric in UKM's culture is On-Time-Delivery. From Engineering, Quoting and Purchasing through Planning, Production and Inspection, OTD is THE unifying metric for all employees. And not just for some or a select few customers, but for every order throughout the shop
Technology is often a term applied to final product or end users appreciation. At UKM we value our process technologies and ultimately our broad breath of metalworking capabilities. Because we appreciate the technology employed by today's rail industry, UKM has taken their lead to invest in the type of technology necessary to provide a totally integrated product, efficiently and timely. Besides our unmatched metalworking capabilities (machining, forming, bending, shaping,…), UKM utilized the latest technology for automated welding, powder coating and thermal plasma arc spraying. We consider these capabilities an integral part of our strategic agenda and essential to the UKM Advantage.
Our most important contribution to the UKM Advantage is the people who follow through with each aspect of our internal commitment to the customer. Besides upholding the UKM Quality and Reliability, their culture of safety, skills development and workmanship are unmatched.
